Thank you for making 2015 bigger and better than ever!
There were around 40 exhibitors and more than 2500 RSVPs. At one point, around 1.30pm, we think there were almost 1000 people onsite! The casual Bots&Beer private afterparty in conclusion was a wonderful way to wind down.
Big thanks to everyone at WilmerHale who handed their office over to the robots for the day and kept us fed and watered!
I was too busy to take photos or post to social media but am planning on making up for it now. Please help me out by sharing your photos. The Robot Block Party has a facebook page where you can share things . Or you can tweet about the event using #SVRobotBlockParty w @SVRobo @WilmerHale (or @WHLaunch ).
Many job seekers took robojobs.org cards or posted their resumes online on the spot. Continue your recruiting by posting your jobs posts on Robojobs.org. It’s free this week using our National Robotics Week code “robots!”
(Robojobs.org is initiative of Silicon Valley Robotics and Robohub – combining the best in robotics jobs with the smartest robotics people).
The event was on front page of Eventbrite, and several local calendars/papers, plus IEEE Spectrum gave us a good warm up: http://spectrum.ieee.org/automaton/robotics/diy/national-robotics-week-2015
Laura Mecoy who does PR for WilmerHale has shared this list of media who were there:
- KNTV NBC Bay Area
- KTVU Fox News
- KPIX CBS News
- The Silicon Valley Business Journal
- The Daily Journal
- Pando Daily (A tech blog)
- IDG – a tech broadcast outlet
In addition, the local Palo Alto paper carried this story:
We’ll be tracking the coverage and send you the stories once we have them. Congratulations to everyone for a great event.
Finally, the T-shirts sold out and I think I heard enough requests to do another order. You can preorder here. And please share your thoughts with us about how we can improve things for next year.
Best regards, Andra Keay
