Halodi Robotics is bringing robots out of factories and into the human world. We have cracked the code and engineered a safe, capable, and affordable solution (named EVE) that will be deployed in the immediate future to security, retail, and the food-packaging markets.
Inspired by innovation and serving the greater good, Halodi Robotics intends to produce thousands of humanoid robots by 2023—and that’s just the beginning. With the mission to bring humanoid robots to everyone, Halodi Robotics offers one of the most futuristic, world-changing career opportunities of our time. And with a team that enjoys being social outside of work, collaboration and support of Halodians extends well beyond the 9 to 5.
This is the place where people come to live and work to their full potential. Halodians are passionate about seeing the human-robot world come to fruition and embrace our holistic approach to building robots—all components of our robots are developed in-house including: motors, transmissions, sensors, electronics, controls, and AI. There are not many places where you can touch every aspect of such an advanced technology, but with Halodi Robotics’ modern approach, nothing is off-limits
As we scale our team, we want to hire the best people no matter where they’re located. However, it would be advantageous for teammates to be open to the idea of relocating to an existing Halodi Robotics location, such as Montreal, Canada, or Oslo, Norway, so they can have direct access to our hardware and physical infrastructure.
What You’ll Get By Joining Our Team
You can shape the future of humanoid robots.
You will have the autonomy to improve all aspects of your technical skills.
You’ll join an agile and diverse, global team.
What You’ll Do
We are looking for a Technical Lead, Robotics Behaviour to assist us in building the interface between our applications and controls so that we are able to program behaviours rather than low-level motions to our humanoid robots. Working closely with our applications and controls teams, you will be responsible for creating an abstraction layer so that we may scale our robotic solutions to various domains.
An ideal candidate for this role is someone who has a background in software, APIs, interfaces, and controls, who has product development and integration experience, especially within robotics (ideally within the humanoid, collaborative, and/or service robot space).
Collaborate with our controls team to build the application interface and abstraction of the controls layer
Work with our applications and project teams to determine and fulfill project needs
Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements
Build the abstracted behaviour control interface so that applications can program independently of controls
5+ years of relevant experience with robotics and controls
Strong programming experience (e.g., Python, C/C++, Java)
Hands-on experience deploying software services to robotics, industrial, or related domains
Experience designing, developing, testing, and troubleshooting SDKs, APIs, and DSLs
Experience working with DevOps pipelines (e.g., Git, Maven, Jenkins), continuous integration/delivery, and automated testing
University degree in Mechatronic Engineering, Engineering Systems and Computing, Robot Technology, Electrical Engineering, Controls, or related industry experience
Industrial or research experience in robotics, especially with NASA, JPL, IHMC, or TRI
Experience with motors, motor drivers, controls, and embedded systems
Knowledge of the state-of-the-art in computer vision algorithms and techniques with a solid understanding of underlying sensing technologies
Experience with VR/XR systems
“With these collaborative robots–these more holistic robotics if you will–you’re trying to create a new world. You’re trying to create a human-robot world; one where interactions become the primary driver of the application.”- Nicholas, Project Director
