Join us in our Martinez, CA headquarters (30-minute drive from Berkeley), where we assemble our robots in-house.

About the role:

This role will give you the opportunity to work with real robots and write open-source software to improve the capability and reliability of Stretch. In this role you will:

Contribute to Stretch’s low level Python SDK that controls the hardware

Contribute to Stretch’s ROS packages for autonomy

Build Python tools that ensure each robot leaving the factory meets functional and performance specifications.

Enable our customers to succeed with Stretch by supporting their new feature requests and resolving their issues on our Forum

In this role, you’ll receive mentorship from experienced roboticists, and have the opportunity to learn from the founders: Dr. Aaron Edsinger, previously the Director of Robotics at Google, and Dr. Charlie Kemp, who works at Hello Robot and Georgia Tech, where he is a tenured professor.

Excited to work in a fast-paced, highly-iterative, startup environment

Recently graduated or graduating winter of 2021/spring of 2022 from a BS, MS, or PhD program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or related fields

Hands on experience programming and debugging real robots

High proficiency in Python

Moderate proficiency with ROS and robotics algorithms

Demonstrated experience with Linux and DevOps related tasks

A portfolio (e.g. on Github) demonstrating software and robotics experience
