Accelerate your robotics development

As a Staff Robotics Scientist at PickNik Robotics, you will determine where state-of-the-art robotics research can be applied to solve our clients’ problems and identify opportunities for innovation. You will be leading teams of robotics experts across all areas of robotics, as well as professional software engineers, in tackling challenging robotics problems across all possible application domains. You will distill the lessons learned across projects into reusable software components that can help accelerate future robotic system development.

– Masters or PhD in Robotics, Computer Science, or a related robotics-focused field
– 9+ years of professional work experience
– Expert in at least one area in robotics
– Theoretical understanding of motion planning, inverse kinematics, control systems, perception, and/or physics simulation
– Proven track record of publishing at high-impact conferences/journals (Science Robotics, IJRR, TRO, TASE, RA-L, RSS, WAFR, ICRA, IROS, etc.)
– Strong software engineering skills
– Proven track record of innovation in applying algorithms and advancing robotics
– Be able to travel approximately every other month to client sites & conferences. Less than 20% of the time. Remote team: in addition, visit Boulder office at most 4 times per year

Some Preferred Skills/Experience
– Track record of writing research proposals
– Experience with ROS
– Significant contributions to open source robotics software
