RIOS is looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to help build, maintain and improve our monitoring infrastructure for robotic workcells deployed across Australia. Responsibilities will also include using workcell monitoring data to identify issues, and help implementing solutions to improve the reliability of our systems. RIOS Site Reliability engineers ultimately are building the tools that will enable the company to scale and ensure customer success.

Responsibilities of the Role Include:

Work with Devops team to build, and support workcell monitoring tooling deployed on every RIOS robotic workcell

Triage issues as they arise, identify failure modes and their solutions

Coordinate with SWE in different organizations to implement solutions

Build and maintain internal APIs responsible for different subsystems metrics logging

Responsible for ensuring high-availability, low-latency, performant deployment and operation of robotics solutions

Data-driven – responsible for the collection of Metrics/Traces/Logs and maintaining the infrastructure to take action on that data

Maintain and support workloads in a variety of physical and virtual locations

Effectively communicate and educate engineers regarding new tooling and software initiatives

Attributes of desired candidates should include some of the following:

Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent industry experience), preferably in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar

3+ years of industry experience

Logging & Telemetry Tooling Experience (Elasticsearch, Loki, Grafana, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, DataDog, NewRelic)

Experience working with modern containerization toolsets (Docker, ctrd, Kubernetes, Helm, Rancher, Argo)

Experience working with complex hardware system preferred

Familiarity with ROS preferred

Experience with continuous integration, deployment, and release management tools

Comfortable with one or more of the following languages (Python, C++, Bash)
