As the Chief Engineer at Seismic, you will manage across engineering disciplines to design, build, and run complex electromechanical systems. You’ll contribute to system designs and help realize those designs through rapid prototyping, electromechanical assembly, and system testing. You will be responsible to carry the design through production, working with the rest of the team to ensure the final product meets its performance and manufacturing requirements.

Responsibilities:

Work on a cross-functional team with engineers, apparel designers, industrial designers, biomechanists, and software developers to develop new concepts and technical specifications and evaluate design trade-offs
Guide and direct all engineering teams (e.g. mechanical, electrical, software, and firmware) to achieve product and technical success
Perform electrical engineering individual contributor tasks as needed while the organization scales
Partner with the Head of Product to ensure alignment between requirements and technical execution
Design and test next-generation prototypes
Develop prototypes into products through system analysis and DFM
Contribute to reliability and validation testing
Assist the manufacturing team with scaling the prototyping process into small and large scale production
Help manage contractors and offsite teams from sourcing to manufacturing

Requirements:

Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Robotics, graduate level preferred
10+ years of industry and product development experience
Experience with requirements generation and verification
Experience in a technical leadership role of a multi-disciplined engineering team
Experience organizing and leading technical reviews
Experience with test planning and execution
Experience developing hardware through the NPI process and bringing a product to market
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills in a laboratory environment
Capable of self-managing, excellent communication, and working with a multi-disciplinary group
Enthusiasm for prototyping and creating
