As an embedded systems engineer, you will bridge the gap between electrical and software systems, enabling our software and data teams to make the most of the hardware. You’ll be expected to interface with a variety of actuators, sensors, computers, and embedded systems. We’re looking for a multi-disciplinary engineer who can exercise skills from electrical design to firmware and low-level software interfaces.

Work on a cross-functional team to develop technical specifications and evaluate design trade-offs
Design and develop product-focused, rock-solid C/C++ software in a multi-processor, real-time-embedded environment
Contribute broadly to many areas of software development, including but not limited to:
Distributed inter-processor communication
Wireless, off-system communication and security
Data management
Robotic actuator control
Participate in hardware and software systems design reviews

A strong communicator with high attention to detail
Bachelors or Masters in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field
Minimum, 3 years industry experience architecting, developing, and supporting embedded systems
Deep knowledge in writing microcontroller firmware from bare-metal to RTOS, with an emphasis on reusability and testability
Experience with threading/locks/synchronization in a real-time environment
Familiarity with electro-mechanical systems
Familiarity with an electrical lab and tools, and ability to use them to debug hardware problems
Enthusiasm for prototyping and creating

Preferred/Bonus Skill Sets:
Python Fluent
Fluent in at least one electrical PCB design suite (Altium, OrCAD, etc)
Comfortable designing moderate complexity, low-speed signal PCBs
Experience in any of the following:
Motor control
Sensor interfaces
Safety critical systems
